If you have specific issues that you want assistance with I'm sure the support on this forum will do their best to help you. Perhaps you just got a defective device. I don't think there is any way we can disagree with your post; you have a negative experience with your phone.

It's hard to disagree with the experience someone has with a product. What I can say is that I have had a different experience with my Z4. I am getting great battery life and really enjoying this phone. I would not wait for some "magic" software update to try and fix my displeasure, I would just move on.

I'm not saying that's what you should do, I don't want to stear anyone away from Moto products. But that's what I would do in this situation, and have done it before when I bought something that didn't work out the way I wanted to to. Hello, I'm sorry for the problems you are having with the Z4. I have a Z4, which replaced a Z2 force, and I have not experienced any of the troubles you mention. Having that said, there must be a reason for those issues.

If I understand you correctly, your main complaints are speed and battery life. Have you by any chance checked the battery stats to see what eats up all your battery capacity? It might actually be a misbehaving app that hogs system resources hence the speed problems , while at the same time consuming battery power.

I would not give up on the phone quiet yet, but try to determine what bogs it down. I'm not recommending at this point of time the much hated factory reset yet , but a good way of finding out whether 3rd party apps interfere with your phone performance would be to boot into safe mode with the phone on, press the power button, then long press the "power off" option in the pop up window and select safe mode. Your phone will reboot with 3rd party apps disabled they will be back when you normally reboot next time.

If the lag is gone and the battery consumption normal in safe mode, you will know that your phone as such is OK and have to look for the culprit among the 3rd party apps. If it still does not work correctly, there is still the dreaded factory reset. If after that there are still problems, try to get the phone replaced under warranty. As far as weak reception goes, there is already a thread in this forum. I personally have not experienced issues there never lost a signal or had issues connecting to 4G, but your mileage may vary depending on your location.

Others have reported differences between the Z4 and other phones. If that is a deal breaker for you, don't waste your time following above recommendations, but replace the Z4 with a different phone if you can. I also have been having major issues with this phone. My front facing camera has never worked properly when taking videos, it makes digital trails and blurs, people ask me whats up with my videos. My biggest issue is wifi. Sorry to know about this and thanks for posting! I would suggest you perform Clear Cache in your device. Did someone help you today?

I had it for over two years and decided I would upgrade to moto Z4. I guess I should have remembered how the Moto Z2 screen was peeling off and they wanted me to pay to replace it a little after a year. This has been the worst phone experience ever with my new Moto Z4.

Not that I have a big following or anything on any social media network but I'm going to try and share this there so that someone else doesn't get stuck with a crappy phone. View All. Re: Garbage , PM Sorry to hear about all of these problems some folks are having with their devices. I can't say I've had a similar experience. Good luck! If you're eyeing a phone in our guide right now, there's a good chance a steeper discount is a month or two away as the newer model arrives.

If you're not in a huge rush, wait. If you want to buy the newest phone no matter the price, then you should definitely put away the wallet and see what's coming at MWC It has cameras that match almost any device out there, and they take advantage of Google's Night Sight mode, which makes it possible to take night shots and selfies that actually look great. It also has a classy polycarbonate body, which is cheaper and more durable than glass.

And it comes with a headphone jack. The interface is speedy because it runs on a great new midrange Snapdragon processor, and it gets monthly security updates and regular feature updates directly from Google most phones don't. The only downsides: It's splash-proof, not waterproof; the screen isn't as nice though it is notchless ; and it has no wireless charging. The phone is still a very good deal, but you might want to know that a Pixel 4a could be on the way this May, as there have been a steady stream of leaks about it.

Its in-display fingerprint sensor is incredibly speedy, and the phone comes bundled with a case. All for hundreds less than competing phones. The other big benefit is OnePlus' dedication to bimonthly security updates and quick platform updates that add new features. Most phones won't get Android 10 for another three to six months. Do note, OnePlus has been heavily teasing a concept phone , and there's a chance we can see elements of it soon in a rumored OnePlus 8, potentially in late spring.

For the better part of , it topped this list of Android phones, but it has since been trounced by the OnePlus 7T and Pixel 3A, which both offer similar value for less money. I really like almost every aspect of the phones except Samsung's Bixby voice assistant , including the hole-punch in-display selfie camera and in-display "ultrasonic" fingerprint sensor on the S10 and S10 Plus.

Samsung's flagships have all the speed and camera capabilities you'd want in a new phone, and Samsung's custom One UI software is pleasant to use and gets regular security updates. Other bonuses like a MicroSD slot, wireless power-sharing, and a headphone jack yes! And since you're probably wondering, there are three S10s: the regular S10, a larger S10 Plus, and the lower-cost S10E that cuts some corners.

For advice on which model to buy, read our breakdown of the three models. Personally, I prefer the S10 due to its smaller size. That being said, Samsung has its bi-annual Galaxy Unpacked event taking place on February 11 , and it's widely expected to announce a successor—the Galaxy S You'll likely be able to score a great deal on the S10 range after the newer lineup launches likely the end of February or early March , but if you're looking for the best Samsung phone to buy, you should absolutely wait a few weeks.

For years, OnePlus has been selling feature-rich flagship phones at prices that are much lower than the competition.

Moreover, it has the best display I've seen on a phone, which refreshes at a very fast 90 Hz; extra nice for gaming. The screen is notch-less, made possible by a pop-out, retracting selfie camera. The newer OnePlus 7T edges over it in a few ways, but it lacks the completely bezel-less look you see here. The 3X zoom and wide-angle lens options on the rear camera also help OnePlus begin to make a name for itself in photography.

We've linked to the OnePlus store, but you can also order it at T-Mobile. If you're a shutterbug, then you most likely have heard of Google's Pixel line, regarded as the phones with one of the best cameras on the market though the iPhone 11 Pro gives it a run for its money. Portrait Mode lets you effectively blur out the background of a subject, the 2X zoom telephoto lens is handy for close-ups, and Night Sight mode lights up the darkest scenes—you can even use it to capture starry skies. It packs great performance with a smooth Hz screen, just like the OnePlus 7 Pro. You can also use Face Unlock as authentication, which works similarly to Apple's Face ID, and Google also added a slew of sensors that let you wave your hand to trigger certain functions, like switching tracks or snoozing alarms.

That's without mentioning all the software smarts that put it a rung above the rest.

For example, Call Screen will monitor robocalls for you so you don't have to answer them, and Now Playing uses on-device machine learning to show you songs playing in your surroundings, so you don't need to try and look it up. We're still waiting for the feature that doesn't allow people to hold your phone to your face and unlock it if your eyes are closed.

But the Pixel 4's biggest downside is battery life, which can barely last a full day if you're a heavy user. If you're going to buy one, opt for the bigger Pixel 4 XL since it has a beefier battery.
